What appeared to be the perfect proposal was captured in a single photograph by a stranger who is now hoping to find the mystery couple.

The snap of the couple shows one partner down on a bent knee, appearing to pop the question on the Rockefeller Center ice rink in NYC, with the famous Christmas tree glowing in the background.

"I know these engagements happen all the time, but I was surprised to be at such a nice viewpoint. I'd really love for them to have this!" Reddit user JohnnyThunders, who took the snap, posted on the site.

Meanwhile, Internet sleuths are hard at work, trying to locate the mystery couple.

After a little girl was reunited with her stuffed lion earlier this week, thanks to Twitter, we have faith the Internet can track down these love birds.
