ABC News Senior Vice President Jeffrey Schneider sent the following note this morning announcing Van Scott is joining ABC News as the Publicity Director for "World News with Diane Sawyer."

Van Scott joins ABC News today as the Publicity Director for "World News with Diane Sawyer."

A seasoned publicist, Van comes to us from CNN where, as Communications Manager, he was responsible for "New Day" and "Early Start" as well media relations for CNN's New York based correspondents, reporters and executives. Van contributed to the promotion of CNN's political coverage throughout the 2012 election cycle and managed PR for Soledad O'Brien, "Starting Point," and "In America."

Prior to his position at CNN, Van was a Senior Account Executive at Text 100, a public relations consultancy where he had an integral role in the communications campaign for the launch of the CNN iPhone app and the CNN.com website re-design. Van started his career at Child's Play Communications as an Account Executive and managed publicity for consumer accounts such as Starz Media, World Music Entertainment and Nick Jr.

A graduate of New York University, Van holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Media Communications and Political Science.
