As a pregnant woman and her husband were rushing to their car to get to the hospital for the birth of their daughter, they realized the baby was coming out a lot sooner than their drive would take.

That's when Keith Arthur sprang into action and called 911.

He spoke with a dispatcher who walked him through the entire process on how to deliver a baby. Minutes later, a healthy baby girl, Colette Arthur, was born in Laguna Niguel, Calif.

"It's all kind of surreal; I keep thinking of yesterday as such a blur," he recalled. "The day just flew by and my wife and I kept looking at each other thinking, 'Did that really happen?'"

The 911 dispatcher, Brodie Lefebvre, who is a father of eight, has been through the delivery process enough times that he felt comfortable in his instructions.

"Being a part of several births and understanding what would happen next definitely helped me," said Lefebvre.

According to Lefebvre, the couple remained incredibly calm throughout the process.

"Just having my husband by my side helped me," said Katherine Arthur. "He immediately called 911 and was just so on the ball with everything."

Keith Arthur said Lefebvre's help and professionalism, along with his wife's calm composure, helped him successfully deliver their daughter.

"Had [Katherine] been freaking out and screaming, it would've made the process more intense," he said. "But she was silent and just went into her zone."

The couple has three other children, two of which were at school, and the third slept through the whole thing.
