Stalking a Massive Russian Convoy Through the Crimean Night

KAMISHOVAYA, Crimea — ABC News tailed a massive Russian military convoy for more than an hour tonight. First spotted at a checkpoint in Sevastopol, Crimea, some 40 vehicles with Russian license plates stretched for a few miles along the highway. Most plates were marked “21″ for Russia’s Chuvashia region.

After heading south of Sevastopol, toward Balaklava, the convoy pulled into a Russian base in Kamishovaya. More than 1,200 miles from home.

It’s unclear if there were troops in all of these vehicles, or where they were coming from at 10 p.m.
