Returning Soldier Finally Meets Fiancée After Online Courtship

After months of seeing his face on a computer screen, Lindsey Clagg finally kissed her fiancé for the first time.

Joe Gardner, an army specialist stationed in Korea for 21 months, finally met Clagg in person at the Albany International Airport in upstate New York Thursday after they dated and were engaged on the Internet, ABC News affiliate WTEN-TV reported.

Clagg and Gardner found each other through the dating service match.com and spent months video-chatting with each other before Gardner proposed via webcam. They dated for about 18 months before seeing each other in three dimensions.

"It's great because I've spent a year just staring at a computer screen, you know, with our Skype conversations and everything, so now to have him home - words just can't explain how happy I am," Clagg told WTEN.

Clagg's parents also met Gardner for the first time at the airport.

Clagg and Gardner have not responded to a request for comment.
