" This Week" is Up by Double-Digits in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 Versus the Prior Week, Year-Ago Week and Year-Ago Season Averages

On June 1, 2014, ABC News' "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" ranked No. 1 in both Total Viewers (2.936 million) and Adults 25-54 (927,000) , according to Nielsen Media Research. "This Week" posted double-digit week-to-week increases (2.490 million and 778,000, respectively, on 5/25/14) in Total Viewers (+18%) and Adults 25-54 (+19%) to hit 10-week highs in both measures - since 3/23/14. In addition, "This Week" stood as the only public affairs program to post gains from the prior week as CBS' "Face the Nation" (-14%/-30%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (-1%/-8%) turned in losses. NOTE: NBC's "Meet the Press" was pre-empted the previous week.

"This Week" outperformed CBS' "Face the Nation" by its largest margins in Total Viewers (+365,000) and Adults 25-54 (+289,000) in 3 months - since 3/9/14 and 3/2/14, respectively.

"This Week" beat NBC's "Meet the Press" by 714,000 Total Viewers and by 149,000 Adults 25-54. In fact, in their last 13 head-to-head airings, "This Week" has outdelivered "Meet the Press" 12 times in Total Viewers and 11 times in Adults 25-54.

"This Week" surged on its year-ago Sunday performance in both Total Viewers (+50%) and Adults 25-54 (+73%) - 1.957 million and 535,000, respectively on 6/2/13. In fact, "This Week" has seen year-to-year gains for the last 6 weeks. "This Week" was also the only public affairs program to grow from the prior year in both demos as CBS' "Face the Nation" (-9%/-14%) was down, while NBC's "Meet the Press" (-5%/+15%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (+6%/-5%) were mixed.

Season to date, " This Week" is up by double-digits in Total Viewers (+14%) and Adults 25-54 (+13%) versus its year-ago season averages. Growing in both measures for the 2nd year in a row, "This Week" is delivering its strongest performance in 5 years - since the 2008-09 season. In addition, "This Week" is up the most from the same point last season in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 versus CBS' "Face the Nation" (+1%/+2%), NBC's "Meet the Press" (-6%/-8%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (+2%/-9%).

In addition, "This Week" leads NBC's "Meet the Press" this season in both Total Viewers (+134,000) and Adults 25-54 (+44,000), beating the NBC program during a season for the first time in 17 years in overall viewers and in 20 years in the key adult news demo - since the 1996-97 and the 1993-94 seasons, respectively.
