A 3-year-old girl was killed today in what police are calling a freak accident at a Philadelphia ice cream shop.
According to police, a 3-year-old girl who was with her mother at a Rita’s Water Ice in the Brewerytown section became trapped when a metal security door broke loose and fell on her.
According to ABC station WPVI-TV in Philadelphia, other people on the scene lifted the heavy door off the girl and performed CPR. She was taken to Hahnemann Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
No one else was injured, and city Department of Licenses and Inspections officials were there to investigate this evening.
