ABC News' "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" Ranks as Sunday's No. 1 Public Affairs Program in Both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54

Season to Date, "This Week" is up by Double-Digits in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 Versus its Year-Ago Season Averages

On August 31, 2014, ABC News' "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" ranked as Sunday's No. 1 public affairs program in both Total Viewers (2.831 million) and Adults 25-54 (891,000),according to Nielsen Media Research. "This Week" has ranked No. 1 in the key adult news demo for the last 5 weeks and in 12 of the last 14. In fact, "This Week's" consecutive run at No. 1 is its longest in nearly 20 years - since 9/18 - 10/8/94.

"This Week" outdelivered CBS' "Face the Nation"by its largest Total Viewer advantage (+434,000) in nearly 2 years and biggest in Adults 25-54 (+369,000) in over 4 years - since 9/2/12 and 6/27/10, respectively.

"This Week" improved over the previous week (2.811 million and 857,000, respectively on 8/24/14) in both Total Viewers (+1%) and Adults 25-54 (+4%). "This Week" was the only program to grow week to week versus CBS' "Face the Nation" (-21%/-37%), NBC's "Meet the Press" (flat%/-4%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (-14%/-17%).

"This Week" also built on it year-ago performance in Total Viewers (+5%) and Adults 25-54 (+18%) - 2.706 million and 756,000, respectively on 9/1/13. The ABC public affairs program has turned in year-to-year growth in both measures in 9 of the last 10 weeks. In addition, "This Week" was the only public affairs program to improve on the year-ago Sunday as CBS' "Face the Nation" (-9%/-35%) and NBC's "Meet the Press" (-17%%/-18%) were down, while Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (+1%/-18%) was mixed.

Season to date, "This Week" is up by double-digits in Total Viewers (+14%) and Adults 25-54 (+16%) versus its year-ago season averages. "This Week" is delivering its strongest performance in 5 years - since the 2008-09 season. In addition, "This Week" is up the most from the same point last season in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 versus CBS' "Face the Nation" (+2%/flat), NBC's "Meet the Press" (-5%/-6%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (+4%/-9%).

"This Week" also leads NBC's "Meet the Press" this season in both Total Viewers (+212,000) and Adults 25-54 (+73,000), leading the NBC program by its largest Total Viewer advantagein 18 years and biggest in the key adult news demo in 21 years - since the 1995-96 and the 1992-93 seasons, respectively.
