November 2014 Sweep

ABC News' "Nightline" won the 2014 November Sweep in Total Viewers (1.824 million), based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. In fact, "Nightline" won its 3rd consecutive sweep in Total Viewers with its November performance marking its largest-ever overall viewer audience in its new time slot. "Nightline" beat NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (+251,000 - 1.573 million) and CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (+441,000 - 1.383 million) by its largest-ever sweeps margins.

In addition, "Nightline" outdelivered CBS' "The Late Late Show" during the 2014 November sweep with its largest-ever sweep advantages in Adults 25-54 (+201,000) and Adults 18-49 (+157,000) . Further, "Nightline" trailed NBC's "Late Night" by its narrowest sweep gaps in both Adults 25-54 (-13,000) and Adults 18-49 (-87,000) .

"Nightline" improved on its November 2013 Sweep performance (1.776 million, 737,000, and 560,000) in Total Viewer (+3%), Adults 25-54 (+1%) and Adults 18-49 (+1%), to post the Net's largest overall sweep audience in the time slot in 12 years - since November 2002.

Week of November 24, 2014 :

ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (2.219 million) during the week of November 24, 2014, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" has won the week in overall viewers for the last 6 weeks, leading both CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (+852,000) and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (+470,000) by its largest-ever Total Viewer margins.

In addition, "Nightline" beat CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" in Adults 25-54 (+263,000) and Adults 18-49 (+154,000).

For the 2nd week in a row, "Nightline" turned in increases from the previous week (1.813 million, 765,000 and 578,000, respectively on w/o 11/17/14) in Total Viewers (+22%) , Adults 25-54 (+5%) and Adults 18-49 (+5%), hitting season highs in all three measures . In fact, "Nightline" drew its largest overall audience in nearly 2 1/2 years and best news demo performance in 1 1/2 years - since weeks of 6/11/12 and 4/15/13, respectively .

"Nightline" also saw gains year to year (1.739 million, 740,000 and 570,000, respectively on w/o 11/25/13) across all key target demos: Total Viewers (+28%), Adults 25-54 (+9%) and Adults 18-49 (+6%).

"Nightline" owned the No. 1 telecast of the week with its Tuesday airing (11/25/14) in Total Viewers (2.383 million) , outdrawing every telecast of the week of CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers." In fact, the Tuesday broadcast stands as "Nightline's" most-watched telecast of the season.

Season to date, ABC News' "Nightline" ranks No. 1 in Total Viewers (1.705 million) , outdelivering CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (+298,000) and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (+129,000) .

Note: "Nightline's" weekly average is based on two days (Mon-Tue), CBS's "The Late Late Show's" weekly average is based on three days (Mon- Wed) and NBC's "Late Night's" weekly average is based on four days (Mon - Thurs). With Thanksgiving week, telecasts of "Nightline" from Wednesday - Friday," "The Late Late Show" on Thursday and Friday and "Late Night" on Friday were coded as specials and are excluded from the weekly averages.
