"Nightline" Grows Double Digits in All Key Demos Year-to-Year

"Nightline" Posts Week-to-Week Gains in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49

"Nightline" is No. 1 in Total Viewers Season to Date Versus its CBS and NBC Competition

ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (1.585 million) during the week of December 29, 2014, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" has taken the top spot in Total Viewers in 10 of the last 11 weeks. "Nightline led CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (+397,000) and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (+157,000) in overall viewers.

"Nightline" posted week to week gains (566,000 and 412,000, respectively, for w/o 12/22/14) in Adults 25-54 (+9%) and Adults 18-49 (+18%) .

"Nightline" saw double-digit improvement on the year-ago week (1.385 million, 547,000 and 420,000, respectively, for w/o 12/30/13) across all key target demos: Total Viewers (+14%), Adults 25-54 (+13%) and Adults 18-49 (+16%) .

Season to date, ABC News' "Nightline" ranks No. 1 in Total Viewers (1.710 million) , outdelivering CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (+246,000) and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (+130,000) .

Note: During New Year's week, ABC's "Nightline" was coded as special on Thursday and Friday, while CBS' "The Late Late Show" and NBC's "Late Night" were coded as specials from Wednesday thru Friday. "Nightline was preempted on Wednesday due to "New Year's Rockin' Eve." ABC's, CBS' and NBC's program averages are based on 2 days (Mon-Tues).

ABC News' "Nightline" is anchored by Dan Harris, Juju Chang and Byron Pitts. Roxanna Sherwood is executive producer, and Steven Baker is Senior Broadcast Producer. The program airs weeknights from 12:35-1:05 a.m., ET on the ABC Television Network. Together with "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "Nightline" is part of ABC's winning late night strategy of airing news and entertainment programming.
