The City of San Francisco is whacked anyway. Winning the title "Nanny State" over the last few years with an unprecedented volume of legislative measures, restrictions and bans over its citizens, my worst nightmare is that some legislative dumpling somewhere is contemplating making my decisions for me. It just offends my libertarian fibers. Deeply.

So I have to celebrate the maneuver that McDonald's Corp executed in response to the banning of the little toy prize in "Happy Meals". It really is wonderful to see the San Francisco "Central Scrutinizing Committee" (City Council) get served and have no real recourse.

Hopefully, this will remind these busy bodies that they do not have to order Happy Meals but there might be some that want to, especially when they can do it in the entire United States legally.

I say, "Get the #### out of the minute day-to-day business of your citizens, San Francisco, and concentrate on issues that you were elected to work on". I actually hate McDonald's but I'm "lovin'" it/this. The lesser of 2 evils sticking it to the greater evil.

The two posters above say it all. California has gone overboard! Liberals would love to regulations everything and tell everyone how to live their life because they are all knowing. The general public couldn't possibly know how to raise their family. God forbid they go to McDonald's for the toy. The food is not why I took my kids or my grandson. It was for the toy. It was fun. I always got milk not a soda and usually they wouldn't finish the food. I also took the toy out and have it to them after. We went to mickey dees maybe once a month if even that. I was the parent and I was the one that said when we could go. They didn't have money or know how to drive. I personally think san Francisco is full of Commie pinko fags with their heads up their ass.

Super bad idea to ban this. I can't tell you the # of kids I've seen that beg for the happy meal then get the toy and then the parents beg for them to eat the food. This won't prevent childhood obesity by an ounce... But it would make sense if fast food places would support adding the happy meal for 10 cents to ANY meal. Then the parents could combat the issue by using the toy to get the child to try something else too... say a salad... When my son was in his happy meal days, he had no clue that the toy came with the meal. We pulled the toy out in advance and then after he'd ate his meal we would "surprise" him with the toy. He never caught on until much later and we never dealt with the "i wanna go to McDonald's every time food was mentioned simply because he would have known a toy came with his food.

Wow are you kidding me? What kid does the SF city council know that eats all of their food? NONE. Get real. Get a life and stop trying to tell parents what they can and can't feed their kids. McDonald's is a treat not a regular meal! I don't know any parent, even not so bad ones that will let their kids eat Mcdonald's everyday! Besides that it is expensive. Focus on getting your City in order instead of telling the rest of us how to live.
