So America cannot come up with the same test? WTH? It's worth a shot. I don't see why cancer drug companies are not all over this. They would have the most to gain monetarily from early detection. You would think they would give away free screenings. Oh but then they would have a battle with health insurance companies who would just as soon see somone die than to pay for expensive drugs. I'm sure Congress would come up with a law to ban the screenings once the health insurance companies lined a few pockets.

I wish such screening was a standard thing in the USA a decade ago. My mother complained to her doctor for nine months about a cough before he advised an x-ray: by then stage 3 lung cancer left her 9 months to live. It would be nice to have it now. I get blood tests every three months and a urine test once/year for type II diabetes and my doctor adds in vitamin D and PSA tests at least once a year. Since I once was a smoker - and a chemist exposed to a lot of carcinogenic chemicals back in the 60's and 70's - I'll ask about the antibody cancer test and get it added if possible. The "list price" for the tests -with 3 pages of results- is about $800 each time but BCBS only pays (in full) about $113. Such tests, including the new cancer test, should be annually done for everyone - that would reduce the price further and catch enough illnesses to pay for itself.

My Mom recently battled lung cancer. The first warning sign was high levels of protein in her blood.

.......Now there's a way to save money, tax ciggies high, and I mean real high, so these tests can be funded without tax payer assistance. Then simply find that one cure, and put it all behind you.
