I am overjoyed to see this! I do not have cancer, but a condition called “trichotillomania” (hair pulling -I am bald). I’ve had this for 36 of my 42 years and no one ever understood what was wrong with me until I was 20.

For anyone suffering from cancer, my prayers to you and I am just so happy to see this from Mattel. Beauty does not have to require hair!

I have a feeling like these people will not stop until those dolls are on the shelves. I mean really they should be grateful that Mattel (was pressured yes) into considiring their idea and making it a reality for them. It’s better to give it to the kids who are aking for it, Not all of them want a doll like thatl since it might remind them of what they went through. To Kayla, are we not allowed to have opinion? Seriosuly this is the kind of stupidity of the campaign that bothered me. They did not allow anyone on the page to give an “negative”(actual researched,educated feeback unlike those who supported this) post. Infact the people would block you from the page if you gave “negative” comments like some of the ones here.

People behind this acted like brats. When keep asking companies to look over your ideas and they keep rejecting, your not making a request but a demand. Mattel was very smart not go put this on the market. I wonder how many people who clicked the “like” button on facebook really cares for the cause.

I will not buy this doll, as a collector I don’t collect toys that are suppose to be sending a statement or meaasge about thse kinds of things. Sorry but I don’t collect toys that are symoblizing diease and decay. Even collectors have a limit.

Mattel was bullied into making this doll.This is a terrible idea and they know it Atleast they held their place and told these people that they will not sell them to the public. It’e better to sell them in the hospitals . Mattel is a business first. All these people who say “oh it shouldn’t matter, it’s helping children with cancer, yadda yadda yadda” Okay but since when did Mattel become a charity? They could have asked them to make perosonalized dolls and paid them but no, when it comes to chidlren with cnacer everyone must pay for them. Ridiculous how socity has become. When someone makes a mess, we now expect others to come clean it up for us.

Mattel was bullied into making this doll. I for one don’t support cancer charitiles like Make-A-Wish or ACS becausethey have a repuation for bullying others into giving to their charities I rather my money goes to helping the homeless or pet shelters. The doll looks digusting and sickly. A doll who has cancer is smiling? Creepy.

Emudd you need to wake up and smell the roses buddy. Barbie is every little girls best friend and to finally have a doll that is dedicated to cancer is a big deal do not put this idea down. I had Childhood Leukemia as a young child and it isn’t something that is fun for a child to go through. So leave your comments to yourself if you have anything else bad to say about this Idea. Do us all a favor and donate your time to something else other than dissing this idea..
This idea has been one that I wished had gone through a long time ago it is so great that it is finally going through.

Barbie’s purpose is not to make girls “feel good”. If it was, there would be a teen mom barbie, an acne barbie, a morbidly obese barbie, ugly barbie, and downs syndrome barbie. Barbie is the stereotype, to make girls fantasize what it would be like to be a blonde with a perfect face, big boobs, and tiny waist. This is just stupid.
