TELL ME IF HFCS IS NOT BAD FOR YOU THEN WHY WOULD SO MANY COMPANIES LIKE HEINZ MAKE THE EFFORT TO MAKE KETCHUP THAT SAYS NO HFCS. YES THEY WOULD LIKE ADDITIONAL SALES BUT THEY KNOW ITS SUCH A HUGE PROBLEM

I dont care if its sugar or high fructose corn, the result is the same and its so obvoius along with fast food loaded with salt, sugar and fat. Along with portion sizes too!

We are a nation of addicts to these substances and food companies work very hard to add as much of these products as possible. Why? its addictive and people come back for more and more.

It proven over and over again that all these are linked directly to obesity, diabetes, heart disease and cancer. We are what we eat and I decided long ago to make a choice not to eat fast food, high sugar foods etc. Cant tell you how much better I feel now!.

We only have to look at nations where sugar, fats and high amounts of salt are not consumed and we see a much lower insidence of all of these diseases.

1 can of soda has 14 teaspoons of sugar
1 candy bar 15 teaspoons
1 serving of katchup or 100 grams = 25% sugar and the list goes on.

On average Americans consume 50lbs of sugar a year. If we cut that out of our diet it would be the equivelant of 87,750 calories a year or 25lbs in weight loss. WOW

This is the worst kind of propaganda.
HIgh fructose is chemically different than regular sugar. It's makeup is 55-45 percent fructose and glucose, so this article didn't even get that right.
It also doesn't go into the other chemicals in HFCS, like mercury.

I have several objections to use of HFCS--there are some implications for increased arterial plaque from the use of it.
It usually is used to make foods sweeter when fat is extracted, and that often raises the total calories of the food.
It doesn't occur in nature in any form, and raw sugars do.
It's often used in conjunction with partially hydrogenated oils which increases the probability of arterial damage.
It's NOT necessary! We could do with a great deal less of sugar period. Use half the amount of cane sugar in items, skip the corn syrup, and save money for food industry too.

No one needs a drug to reverse type 2 diabetes. All of this information was taken from the Spirit Happy Diet people in Denmark. Diabetes has been reversed in over 10,000 people by using a specialized diabetes diet. The diet also reversed body fat in people trying to lose weight. Scientists showed food chemicals is the cause of almost all diabetes. They also showed how to reverse your own diabetes without medications.

just google SPIRIT HAPPY DIET

nothing in this article states that HFCS seems to be in every food product we buy. From bread to cereal to yogurts, as well as drink products. Why?

i have diabetes type I and when i consume a product that has hfcs it takes twice the amount of insulin to control my levels as regular sugar. i have avoided hfcs at all costs due to that fact. anyone who says it's the same is sadly mistaken.

What about the people who are allergic to Corn? I have a corn allergy and read all the labels of everything I eat. Eating out requires conversations with staff to see if any of their products have corn or HFCS, then it's still a crap shoot if I get sick from cross contamination. My body can tell the difference between HFCS and Sugar and the result could be life threatening.
