i believe that cuting down drink size is not going affect the weight on ppl….. its like basicly saying y dont we make a law to ban all fast food resturants and ban places where u can eat in general…. how is any one going to make money? y not just ban coca cola pepsi etc.. from disstrubuting their producting in new york at all? food intake is what make ppl fat yes sugary drinks is a part but come on we live in such a “free” country….. where u basicly can not do any thing… y not have the whole state just become a veggitarin? now thats healthy living. ( really it is) y not bann whole milk that calorie count is way high…….just saying ppl this is REDONKULOUS.

I personally think it’s time to take or government over and start from scratch. Do or law makers not have anything else to worry about but the size of a soft drink?? They are slowly trying to take every right we have as a free nation. Wake up America and smell the roses.

Limit the size of cups. It sets a precedence for other limits for red meat, pizza. Another step will be to ban pizza. etc. Alcohol kills too. AA has multiple meetings EVERY day of the week and nobody screams ban alcohol. Well, they did that already and it failed. Now bars can have a parking lot and everybody leaves after last call and NO PROBLEM with that. What you put in your body is your choice, or it used to be. I’m sitting in the back yard having a another beer, a dripping slice of pizza and will finish it off with a few good smokes. I’m 79. If I put a pack of cigarettes in the back pocket of a life long non smoker and threw him/her in front of a bus, smoking would be a contributing cause. Nobody ever asks how they come up with these numbers like so many lives were saved by banning smoking. How do you know until you find out what they really died from? The only one dumber than the liars that make up that stuff are the dopes that believe it. 87% of people reading this will not believe it. 11% will believe it. The remaining 2% will be reading this on a lap top in the washroom eating a cookie.

The Center For Consumer Freedom is speaking loudly for Coke and Mcdonald’s and others. It’s all about getting your money and to hell with your health. I WONT buy another soft drink again, not for me or my family. And, THAT AD, depicting the mayor as a nanny ? WHY YOU IDIOTS just insulted half of the US and that won’t fly. Women don’t like being dissed in the name of freedom. The Center For Consumer Freedom is no DOUBT the same people who do not want to see the Health care act take affect. And they could care less if American tax payers have to pay for obesity at the tune of Billions for people that over do it with food and drink. TAKE A BIG FAT GUESS whose behind these ads. CLUE – people who want to CONSERVE their wealth.

Every person I see drinking these freakishly large gulps is borderline obese or well in over their limits already. Contrary to my libertarian side, I can’t fault Bloomberg. I’d much rather have people cover their own downstream health costs associated with these lifestyle decision. Instead, this is democratized and You end of forking over in the form of Obese Healthcare Costs. So there is no accountability. If you’re not going to pay, you can’t play…I’m sorry. Bloomberg is protecting Tax Payers, he is Protecting Rising Healthcare Costs that impact those who try and stay healthy. If you want freedom, take some responsibility for you Actions – the consequence are NOT FREE!

Everyone has a right to self destruct by making choices that are unhealthy as judged by biomedical research but when those choices become a burden on tax payers having a need for a nanny to take away those bad choices becomes imperative. What mayor Bloomberg is trying to do should be applauded and every mayor and governor in the country should actively promote avoidance of health choices that contribute to disease and subsequent burden on the tax payers. Smoking tobacco, excessive sugar, salt, caffeine, fat consumption is detrimental to the health of the nation as a whole, at a time when we stand along with the third world countries in disease like diabetes, hyper tension, obesity and it is time to wage a war on disease. Bravo Bloomberg. I wish you were a mayor of my city.

I guess there is no way that pizza ,hotdog,and all other food we love to eat on the run could have had anything to do with us getting fat.oh ya and if we are poor we are stupid.
I think that if you look at things in a adult way you know that soda isn’t the bigest reason we are all gaining weight it is lazyness.alot of people sitting around and not doing anything.
I think that someone needs to put a stop to this before they strart telling us what we can and can’t buy for dinner at home .we live in a free country.
One more thing if the mayor is so concerned about people how about start feeding the homeless more and making sure no families go to bed hungry .I think there are more important things to worry about other than what we are eating and drinking.
