MMM let see the last thing you put why people don’t eat as much meat as they use too was Price…. That should have been the FIRST one, not last. Therefore with only one income you eat less meat. SIMPLE, No Job, No Meat. Have Job, Have Meat.

I think it’s a given that an industry can’t possibly be expected to understand the concept of over-consumption of its product. It’s built in that that will be a blind spot for them. That’s why industries need regulation, and why consumers need an independent source of information. The problem lies squarely with the conflict-of-interest of the USDA. No wonder it’s schizophrenic.

How is a Meatless Monday going against farmers…. we are going to be eating food raised on farms!
The Meat Industry seems to care little for their animals, by the inhumane way many of them are raised and slaughtered, or us the consumers with what garbage they feed much of the livestock, from growth hormones to dosing them with antibiotics to counter filthy growing conditions.
We need Meatless Mondays!

The beef industry will kill us all and cost us all a TON of money. High cholesterol, high blood pressure, overweight kids, OBESE AMERICA, caused by fast food, fried food and MEAT. The human body was not made to eat meat 3 times a day people!!! Get a clue and eat some greens. Go have a salad for your sweet heart’s sake. This country is run by people that want to make a buck. The meat industry doesn’t care about your triple bypass surgery paid for by medicare. They want your money, not your health. Not to mention all the hormones, terrible terrible things in the meat these days and the poor animals themselves, living such terribly painful lives. It’s a disgrace, and if you don’t think ingesting all that pain is no big deal you will be proven wrong one day when you go through that triple bypass and don’t get to see your grandkids grow up….

Sen. Jerry Moron is, well, a Moron. The USDA is FAR from dropping it’s support of the meat industry. Those greedy pigs at the cattlemen’s association need to relax before they all have heart attacks earlier than they’re destined to. One day out of 7 to go “meatless” isn’t going to hurt their profits much at all. The meat industry will probably try to add beef to soft drinks to increase their profilts. Heck, I’d expect them to start using cow skins in napkins and toilet paper to increase their profits. These guys are greedy!

Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS) is being over dramatic. With only 5 % of Americans getting their daily requirement of fruits and veggies, the USDA has done a awful job of promoting farmers that grow fruits & veggies & human grains. “If everyone ate a Western diet, (meat, eggs, dairy) we would need 2 Planet Earths to feed them.
