When you go behind politics we see that type 2 diabetes has already been reversed without this dangerous surgery. Dr Liu in Denmark revealed how to reverse diabetes without any medications.

No one needs a drug to reverse type 2 diabetes. All of this information was taken from the Spirit Happy Diet people in Denmark.

Diabetes has been reversed in over 10,000 people by using a specialized diabetes diet. The diet also reversed body fat in people trying to lose weight. Scientists showed food chemicals is the cause of almost all diabetes. They also showed how to reverse your own diabetes without medications. The diabetes drug caused cancer

just google SPIRIT HAPPY DIET

Anne is correct. The ADA diet is way too high in carbs for a disease of carbohydrate metabolism.

Anne, it is the kind of carbs that matter. Anything that is refined grain would be bad. So whole rice, whole wheat pasta and only in small amounts.
What there should be on a plate for health is a large amount of veggies, raw or lightly cooked without added sauces.
My cardiologist recommends skipping red meat altogether, as the way it is raised here results in a lot of saturated fats in the meat, compared to a foraging animals natural diet. Feedlot beet is very unhealthy because of what they are fed!

When did the ADA start recommending a diet low in carbohydrates and high in non-starchy vegetables. From what I have read on their site they recommend that people with diabetes eat 45-60gm of carbs per meal and that is not low carbohydrate! I bet they are not lowering this for those with mildly elevated glucose levels.

There are many of us who are using a real low carb diet to truly control our blood sugars. Check out the website "Blood Sugar 101" or read Dr. Bernstein's book "Diabetes Solution"

George, why would you accept brain shrinkage as normal? Perhaps ALL our brains shrink as we get older, but MOST of us eat a lot of sugar. What if EVERYONE cut back on sugar and carbs, and ate more healthily? Suppose that ALL of our brains would not longer shrink?

George, yes our brains shrink as we get older. But how science works, they have controls that they compare results with. So in this study of non-diabetics with high blood sugar levels, they would compare the brain scans with the same age folks with normal blood sugar levels. That is why they are attributing the extra shrinkage in the high blood sugar level group to that abnormal condition.
Science, done right, it is a beautiful and useful thing.

I think the older we get, the more ALL our brains shrink. Happens to the rest of the body too and very easy to see.

These studies have revealed valuable information.
Don, I don't think that you read the article. They were testing non-diabetic people.
It makes sense that high blood sugar would be harmful to the brain, as high blood sugar blocks small capillaries, where energy is actually taken up by cells. If diabetics get damage to their feet, hands and heart, why wouldn't high sugar affect the brain badly?
This study shows another good reason to exercise, lose excess weight and eat whole foods more often instead of junk or processed foods. Skip the apple pie and eat the apple!

Is there anything else that diabetes can be blamed for? The economy perhaps!
