If I was an acceptably attractive female I suspect that I might relish showing the world some of my assets by wearing revealing clothing.

No, I don’t suspect, I know for sure that I would do that.
In the virtual world it would be easy but, given the range of clothing open to females today, it would be very easy in the real world as well.

However, I am not female and can not get away with it, so I do not.

But perhaps some of the scantily clad virtual females are, in the real world, males….?

The premise cannot be presumed to be correct without knowing how many of the humans behind those naked “women” avatars are in actuality males ?

One of the big reasons for me is that I can bare as much ‘skin’ as I like and not be touched, and if someone really annoys me, I can mute them or leave so utterly fast that any pursuit is absolutely out of the question. This is impossible in the ‘brick and mortal’ world.

I see where someone says that a woman’s power comes from attractiveness as well as how well she can manipulate men. So, what is a man’s power? Strength, and his ability to forcibly manipulate woman. Most laws in civilized society involve restricting this male trait. The virtual world levels the playing field flat. What is left is the ability to communicate.

Not everyone is beautiful or young or perfect or strong, but the intelligent or the clever have position and status here.

Liz Neporent hasn’t spent a single second in Second Life. The study she is referring to is completely ridiculous as well.

If ABC News actually paid for this article, they need to demand their money back.
