For cold use Hydrogen Peroxide in an atomizer and inject into mouth and take deep breaths. Use about 9 sprits each use. Repeat dose every two to four hours for at least a week.
For flu, when feeling you are about to vomit, take 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and dilute into 6 ounces of warm water. Drink all at one time. Flu symptoms will disappear in about 30 minutes. No vomiting will occur if this is done timely. I do this whenever conditions exist and I have had no side effects other than feeling great soon after.

My cardiologist wants me to have a low salt diet, and most chicken soup has a very high sodium content, which is unfortunate.

Donna A - unfortunately I did not see any story or link to one on elderberries being toxic so may have missed the context it'd been stated, BUT - all other parts of the elderberry plant - stems, trunk, bark, leaves - ARE toxic.......and that goes for all varieties of them. The red berries of the Sambucus Racemosa variety are also toxic. ONLY the black/dark purply-blue berries of the Sambucus Nigra or S. Canadensis can be ingested.
If in doubt, watch the wildlife - particulary the birds. If they don't touch it, neither should you.

Caution: if you REALLY have the flu, it's very important to make sure you see a doctor if you see it take a major turn for the worse - particularly lung congestion. Most of the people who die "from the flu" actually die from pneumonia (fluid in the lungs leading to effective drowning) they catch while weakened by the flu. And there is a bacterial pneumonia vaccine you need to get twice (some experts say just once) 5 years apart and you're good for life. My brother's brother-in-law was between jobs and without health insurance and died of pneumonia trying to self-medicate himself. That's always led me to see my doctor if I can't shake a sore throat, cough, etc. within a week and also ask his opinion on how any vigorous activity on my part could affect what I have.

I have been using the elderberry extract for 2 yrs now. I also use a zinc remedy. I use both at the first sign of a cold. I am convinced it is effective in preventing or lessening the symptoms of a cold. I think there was an error about the elderberry in your story. The elderberry is not toxic. I have been eating elderberries since I was a child. I ate them raw and I made elderberry pies and jam. They also make elderberry wine. It certainly never made me sick. I think someone doing the story had the elderberry confused with a pokeberry which is toxic to people. I leave the pokeberry grow wild in my yard for the birds. The Cedar Waxwing comes to my yard every year to enjoy these berries.
Thank you for a great news program. I would appreciate a reply.

There's nothing like homemade chicken soup to relieve the symptoms of a cold, but if it was cooked down all night it would all evaporate and there'd be nothing left. Two hours is sufficient. Pure protein with nutrients being drawn from the chicken bones.

Traditional chicken soup was made from bones and organs left over from dinner. Grandma added parsnips, celery, onions and carrots(root vegs) , She cooked it down all nite. That's a lot of nutrients and liquid. Loosens the sinus and chest like hot tea.
