Eyes Glued to the Screen at ASU

ABC News On Campus reporter Emily Graham blogs:

At the First Amendment forum at the Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University in downtown Phoenix,  there’s excitement in the air.

About 200 sets of eyes are glued to a large projection screen with the presidental inauguration playing; not many people are talking as there is too much going on on the screen.

As someone said to me, "everyone in the world is watching this."  When I think of it that way, it’s incredible to be here watching this historic moment.

Although I’m not in DC, we can see  people who show an awareness of the importance and the history, which makes the whole event seem like it will be life-changing.

This event has brought out many different people. We have older people who probably never thought they would see the day an African-American would take the presidential oath, young black men who are looking to this day as a breakthrough and many others that came to watch this day for a change.

Is there anyone who thinks that this guy would have been elected if, having the same “qualifications”, he had been white ?
