Many Seek the Taste of a ‘Michael Jackson’

ABC News On Campus reporter Xorje Olivares blogs: It doesn’t matter if you’re black or white, just if you’re chocolate and cream cheese. Well, at least that’s true for Hey Cupcake in Austin, Texas.Since it began in 2007, the small business has sold the Michael Jackson, a chocolate cupcake with cream cheese frosting, playing off Jackson’s ever-changing appearance over the years. When word came that Jackson had died, worker Heather Schechter said, Hey Cupcake quickly sold out of the popular dessert. Friday, she had sold more than 60 MJs. “We had calls of people asking for 40, 20 Michael Jacksons,” said a worker who wished to remain anonymous. “We were wondering if we should pull it, but we love Michael Jackson too much!”Karli Leonard, 21, bought three Michael Jacksons. Upon learning of the death of the “King of Pop,” Leonard had what she described as a nervous breakdown, crying all day with her mother. But, she felt she could pay tribute by heading over to the cupcake place.”I’m having a Michael Jackson cupcake every day of the week in his honor,” Leonard said.

I think Michael Jackson is one of the greatest artists ever walked the face of the earth… he changed the way we see things, feel things, the way music industry is, he shaped the music video industry, he touched and changed so many lives across the universe….
I grew up ob his songs… and I am grateful to such a man, that influenced my teenage life to be better than others and love what comes to us in life…
today I’m a 5 awards winning designer in the visual communications practice, and i feel that owe some of it to him.

Obviously, Michael Jackson was a very talented and gifted musician and would be remember as probably the greatest entertainer..but I was always confused by his behavior and being a black man myself, I don’t think he was proud of his race when there are so many things to be proud about..even though his being black and feeding on the contributions of black music and copying from the likes of James Brown and Jackie wilson and others really made him who he was..of course he took it to another level..I really don’t think he embraced his blackness and was probabley ashamed of it and for that I was only a fan of the music not the man, but I think he was confused..I wouln’t talk about the other stuff but he had some serious problems in other areas and had to pay out millions to save face which could have gone to educate some poor child somewhere in the world..What a life! RIP Michael.

Yes we all know by now that Micheal Jackson has passed away.RIP.But it is getting really old.You guys (good morning america) has not posted much about farrah as you have with Micheal. Farrah was a Icon. She was a great woman but we are not hearing enough about her.Whats up with that?I much rather hear about her than I would Micheal.Yes he had some good music back in the days but enough is enough.I quit listening to him when all of that happened with the little kids.I know people are saying that it never happened but if it didn’t then why would he pay them off.I know if I were innocent I sure would not give any money to anyone!!!!So please stop with the MJ crap and lets hear more about Farrah
