‘I Survived the Swine Flu’: A First-Hand Account of H1N1
ABC News on Campus reporter Xorje Olivares interviewed two students from the University of Texas at Austin in mid-October and asked them what it was like to get H1N1, more commonly known as "swine flu." One of the students, Emma Lacenski (left), a junior, did not have a pre-existing condition. For her, H1N1 was just like getting the "regular," or, seasonal flu. The other student, Katy Dempsey (right), a sophomore, had a pre-existing condition, and nearly died after contracting the virus. Click on the video below for the story in their own words.
