Just what is it about the summer that inspires a fling? Shorter hemlines? Beach bikinis? Sultry summer nights? Whatever the ingredients of a great summer fling, the perfect recipe always calls for willing participants.

So where to go to find summer lovin'? Dating website Plenty of Fish ( POF.com), which claims more than 40 million members, has come up with a list of the top destinations for a summer fling. They are ranked on a per capita basis, based on U.S. members whose dating profiles say they are looking for a fun time with no commitment, compared to those who say they want a long-term relationship.

The list, a mix of large and small cities around the country, may surprise you. But perhaps the most surprising destination is the one that takes the number-one spot: Salt Lake City, Utah.

Markus Frind, founder and CEO of POF.com, said, "Salt Lake City is a beautiful city with some really great attractions, but we were definitely surprised by these results. However, people need to be truthful about their dating intentions if they want to be successful on POF, so with our expansive membership - particularly in the U.S. - these findings are pretty telling."

Especially because you're not likely to find any of the fling ingredients - short hemlines, bikinis or sultry nights - in Salt Lake City.
