ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! These Parents are simply putting their kids directly in harms way only to capitalize on them!! One of the many jobs of parents are to PROTECT their children. Yes, of course these kids love that they get to drive monster trucks and ride deadly bulls. What kid wouldn't? But the fact that, especially with bull riding, children have died. ARE THESE PARENTS NUTS!!! They must be driven by greed (whether the payoff is simply being in the spotlight or monetarily). Parents need to grow a set and put on their big people pants and get back to good old fashioned morals, ethics, and values instead of feeding in to the adrenaline high they are allowing these young kids to experience. Not to mention the trauma they are exposing their young, still developing brains and bodies to. Have they not heard of the irreversible brain damage caused by repeated trauma?? Yes, the boy who drives a monster truck wears a helmet but there is still a tender brain under that helmet that crashes against the inside of his skull each time he crashes or flips. Come on, this is proven science and knowingly exposing a child to such repeated trauma is criminal!!

My son rode MX for many years. He didn't start til he was 11, so he wasn't really young. He loved every minute of it. He did get quite a few injuries, some worse than others. However, it kept him from doing some other unsavory things he may have gotten involved in as a teen.

Do you mean to tell me that there are some parents who don't hand their kids over to team sports? Blasphemous!! I watched a tee-ball practice one evening and after seeing coaches and parents arguing over "swing form", thought, this is awful. While my family can't afford motorsports, we do participate in *individual* sports, that could be considered 'extreme' like MTB racing and we do XC skiing in the winter. Interesting thing is, we've found ourselves in a fairly large group of parents who were also fed up with team sport 'politics' and 5 practice day weeks where they hand their kids over to someone else in a form of sports-daycare. I suspect these "extreme sport" kids and families spend more time together than the average soccer or basball family.
The rattlesnake comment above makes no sense and displays the pathetic ignorance that comes from the sheep who shuffle their kids off to team intramurals all summer.

My son has had a dirtbike since he was 5, didn't start racing until he was 10 or so, but he always wore all the protective gear required. He has had his share of broken bones, bruises, etc, but having an active boy, there always something. He's injured himself playing soccer, walking on a stage at school...Hmmmm wonder if the injuries are because he's a lefty in a right hand world
