Do you who are so eager to criticize Jason wish to stop all things that are dangerous such as contact sports, motorcycle racing, auto racing, etc? Where do you draw the line? How many of you who are criticizing Jason have had a few drinks before driving or have used the cell phone or texted while driving? I am an air show pilot myself. It is show business, it is dangerous and I have lost friends in this business. But when it comes to air shows as an event, all reasonable precautions are taken to protect the spectators. With the exception of t the accident at Reno over a year ago,(which actually was a race and not an airshow) there have been no spectator fatalities for over 30 years which I think is pretty outstanding! What you see Jason doing in this video is practice for a potential air show event. At an actual air show, what you see here would take place 500 feet or more from the "crowd line" with no energy directed toward the crowd. Some of you who are so quick to criticize things such as this need to learn more about it before jumping to conclusions! I'm not just speaking for Jason but he like me and other air show pilots are entertainers seeking to sharpen our skills and come up with new things to make our performances more entertaining. Just think about things you might enjoy whether it be motor sports or a Las Vegas show such as Circ Cilay or whaterver it is, an how much dangerous practice it took to get to thier level. It takes that with flying as well! It seems that anything related to aviation gets sensationalized. You people in the MSM who call yourselves "journalists" are pathetic. You are a disgrace to the Freedom of Speech Ammendment. Your job as "journalists" is to "speak truth to power"! Hold our politicians accountable! Gary Ward!!! Jason Newburg is an experienced aerobatics pilot that has performed at airshows all over the country. He's not just some schmo with an airplane. He and his crew perform as Team Viper and their specialty is performing in a group with motorcycles and the aircraft. He does this stuff all the time, and is paid for it. He holds a license to perform unlimited aerobatics. What the FAA has an issue with is the fact that his waiver to perform had expired and not been renewed. This is akin to you being stopped on the road for driving with an expired license. It doesn't mean you are doing anything dangerous, it just means you forgot to renew your license to do something you have been doing for years. This article and the whole issue is just sensationalism for its own sake. Nice, this story is so full of half-truths and inaccuracies that it’s more shocking than the incident itself. Not everybody want's to be stuck in a safety bubble like doctors tried to get my parents to do. thank god at the time I was old enough to speak up for myself If I have a fused spine and my organs are in areas that doctor wouldn't even think they are. the doctors that found all this out was going to pull me out of ALL physical activites essentially limiting what I could do. FFA says their out to keep us safe. I don't want their version of safety atm I want to go top speed in a Z06 Corvette on a clear abandoned run way. He has no right to carry a gun if he is going to be so unsafe. Well, I think they should take away his guns. He has no right to carry a gun if he is going to be so unsafe.

This is NOT a case of government overregulation but rather a case where an idiotic and unsafe pilot repeatedly endangered others whether they agreed to be endangered (makes them morons) or not. It is the job of the FAA to ensure dangers are minimized and stunts like this deserve to be overseen. Not Big Brother, just people who are required to look out for your safety and mine. I seems everytime someone does something idiotic peopleyammer about how no one is being hurt by it and that is wrong. This guy deserves to hae his license yanked permanently. Oh get over it. It's not a business for the weak stomached or the faint of heart. I wonder how many flying jobs he'll lose because he decided to pull some stupid stunt to feed his ego. Airshows don't want pilots that are going to put spectators at risk.
