Burger King has added a new turkey burger to its lineup, following fast food health trends and customers' demand for healthier options.

Last week, McDonald's added an egg white sandwich called the Egg White Delight to its menu.

The fire-grilled burgers are topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and mayo and will sell for $3.99. Carl's Jr. and Hardee's both added a limited edition turkey burger on their menus. Because the burgers where so popular, they become regular menu items.

For a limited time, the Miami-based chain added the turkey burger along with a veggie burger, bacon-stuffed cheddar beef burger and a chipotle whopper.

The bacon-stuffed burger, which is topped with onion rings, has 650 calories and 12 grams of saturated fat. The turkey burgers are 530 calories and have 5 grams of saturated fat.

Other menu items include a pina colada smoothie, loaded tater tots with bacon and cheese, a chipotle chicken sandwich and wrap, a trio of iced teas, and donut holes.
