Put down all those expensive spices from the spice rack. Now, put away the herbs and the exotic fruits. These items will no longer be necessary since the same flavors can be added to your food simply through their scents.
Molecule-R, a Montreal-based business founded to make molecular gastronomy products easily available to cooks of all levels, announced its newest item: the Aromafork.
This product will do exactly what its name says. The Aromafork will combine the basic eating utensil with scents of 21 different seasonings to produce flavoring for food. No need to try to find the perfect balance of butter for your mashed potatoes because butter is one of the aromas included with the product.
“The initial idea was to reinvent the traditional fork into an improved utensil that would trick people’s mind by liberating an intense flow of aromas; but we soon realized that the Aromafork could also become the perfect educational tool to learn how to better appreciate food,” said Jonathan Coutu, President of Molecule-R about the new item.
The fork has a small circular indentation below its prongs where a small blotting paper containing a specific food or seasoning scent can be placed. This allows the user to breathe in the smell of the flavor every time a bite of food is taken.
Buying many different spices and seasonings can get expensive.
The Aromafork makes it a bit easier because there are less items to have to worry about buying. It is currently available for pre-order on the Molecule-R website for $58.95 before tax and shipping with the website saying delivery is scheduled for this summer.
