World's Oldest Cat Dies at Ancient Age of 24

Even a cat with nine lives, can't live forever.

The world's oldest cat, Poppy, passed away last week at the elderly age of 24, according to Guinness World Records. The cat was recognized as the world's oldest living cat just last month by Guinness World Records. Poppy's owners, Jacqui and Andy West, of Bournemouth, England, chalked up Poppy's longevity to the tried and true method of diet and exercise, with a little bit of kebab meat thrown in.

"She is partial to the odd takeaway. We sometimes give her a bit of KFC chicken, fish and chips and even the odd bit of kebab meat," Jacqui West told Guinness World Record last month.
