Celebrate ‘Arch’ Desmond Tutu Celebrates 80th Birthday

Remember when 79 year old Archbishop Desmond Tutu did pushups with Michelle Obama earlier this year?

The Nobel Peace Prize winner turned 80 today, and there’s no better way to celebrate than to support the work he’s doing to help girls around the world.

Along with Kofi Annan, Graca Michel, Mary Robinson and a host of other influential world leaders, Tutu has been speaking out against child marriage with The Elders’Girls Not Brides” campaign.

Million Moms Challenge members CARE, Save the Children and the White Ribbon Alliance are all supporting the campaign, as well as our friends at Women Deliver, Tostan, BRAC and many others. Dozens of leading NGOs and governments have joined the movement as well.
