Raising Healthy Babies: Your Way is Best

I shared a few months ago that my journey to being a mom came on fast and furious with premature twins.  I love being a mom, and thought I was completely ready.  My years before kids were spent as a pediatric nurse so I had a great head of knowledge of taking care of kids, but honestly had never done it full time.  To give you an idea of what I lacked in real knowledge, when it was time to give our girls their first bath… my husband and I printed off instructions from the internet worried we were going to do it wrong.  It's silly to think of now after almost 7 years of bathing babies.

That experience though leads me to my favorite tip to raising healthy babies.  My tip… is actually to raise them your way.  Everyone has advice or will tell you what you are doing wrong or could do better, just do what works for you.

Accept the reality around you and enjoy every day!!  My living room may be a wreck, I need to do laundry, sweep, vacuum… the list is truly never ending.  This is just part of life.  Get what you can done, and then go play with your babies.  Lay on the floor and do puzzles, read books, whatever you guys love to do, just enjoy those moments and make them part of every day.

In the end when your kids are grown they will not remember the state of your unclean house, they will remember that they had an awesome mom who would play dress up or go on bug hunts.  I promise the more time you spend with your kids the healthier they will be.

Children's health is at the top of every mother's mind. What's your favorite tip for raising a healthy baby?
