I know I’m probably not with the majority of television viewers on this, but I’ve found the entire “American Idol” phenomenon to be nothing more than a glorified, hyped version of “Ted Mack’s Original Amateur Hour,” where the contestants with the best chance of success are those who sound the most mainstream.
