Lieber-angst

tapper1 4 Lieber angst

Gallup has a NEW POLL indicating that, nationally, Sen. Joe Lieberman is far more popular with Republicans than he is with Democrats.  Among Republicans, 46% view Lieberman favorably and 27% don’t care for him…. Fewer Democrats approve of Lieberman — 38% — and more disapprove — 32%. When Gallup first measured Lieberman’s favorability in august 2000, 65% of Democrats approved. But oh, how the mighty have fallen.

I don’t believe I know one person who thinks Lieberman is going to win his primary Tuesday.

That includes Lieberman people.

The question may be, how bad does he lose…and if it’s really bad, will he decide not to run as an independent?

At a rally yesterday, Mayor of New Haven John DeStefano PRAISED LIEBERMAN’S CHALLENGER, Ned Lamont.

"Ned is full of passion and presents an important choice for all of us — thanks for being here, Ned," DeStefano said.

The significance of this? DeStefano has endorsed Lieberman.  New Haven is Lieberman’s home town.

"Thanks for being here, Ned"???

SALON WEIGHS IN with numbers proving that (cue flash of lightning)…Lieberman used to go on FOX NEWS A LOT!!!!

(Cue thunder)

"A review of transcripts from the LexisNexis database shows that in the eight months since Nov. 30, 2005, when he appeared on "Hannity and Colmes," Lieberman has been absent from Fox News. By contrast, in the previous eight months, counting that Nov. 30, appearance, Lieberman was on Fox four times. And in his most recent primary, the 2004 race for the Democratic presidential nomination, Lieberman made 25 appearances during the 13 months he was officially running, from Jan. 13, 2003, to Feb. 3, 2004, for an average of roughly one appearance every two weeks."

RELEASE THE HOUNDS!!!

HERE’S THE DOT-COM VERSION of the spots we did for World News with Charles Gibson and Nightline last night about evangelical Christians supporting Israel as part of the "End of Days" scenario…and HERE’S A DOT-COM VERSION of this a.m.’s Good Morning America look at the scrappy little film put on YouTube.com that seemed to poke fun at Al Gore and his anti-Global Warming crusade, seemingly made by an amateur but in reality traced to a slick Republican public relations firm….

“Ask not for whom the bell tolls, Joe Lieberman: it tolls for thee.” For fear of sounding a little like Jeff Foxworthy, I’d like to give some warning signs to Joltin’ Joe:
“You know that your reelection campaign is in serious trouble when:
… your poll numbers are sinking faster than the Andrea Doria.”
… your Republican friends are talking about presenting you a Certificate of Meritorious Achievement, and you can’t think of why they’d do such a thing.”
… your hometown mayor wants the key to the city returned–pronto.”
… you’re referred to as “O’Reilly’s homeboy” when you’re in the Fox News studios.”
… you can’t convince the voters that a vote for your opponent is letting the terrorists win.”
… you do a Google search to gauge your popularity on the internet, and you find that the “I’m Feeling Lucky” button has been grayed-out.” And finally,
… you realize that even Mel Gibson’s troubles can’t dislodge you from being the main topic of Jake Tapper’s blog for three days in a row!”

I’ve lived in CT from birth..I don’t see a difficult mystery in its future these days..its JOBS..I can NOT see Ned Lamont doing the JOB..since Senator Joe Lieberman has been attacked over politics in Washington-I think the story has a twist for some lives-SomeWhere..so I would(in my own mind)view the stories that Communities just don’t have the abilities to KEEP America SAFE..Connecticut has many JOBS that boast such things/if Sen. Joe was to make amens for the failures coming CT-way..it would be to take on the “pirates”..since Ned Lamont is a NEWBIE/he’s blind-siding many on the “pirate” ISSUE..(I would)quess/Ned Lamont has his PIRATES..and Sen. Joe has his PIRATES..the question is really that simple..”What do we do with all these Pirates”..??..I personally have enjoyed life under Joe Lieberman/Chris Dodd/Bill O’Neill/and the continueing problems of Connecticut..its just the PROBLEMS can’t continue..a simple “boil down” would be that Ned Lamont offer’s the Pirates a way to continue..(and)..maybe somebody else’s PIRATES..It does seem to fit the major issues as stated in a Joe Lieberman analogy of Peace&Prosperity/the other candidate just seems to offer out-siders their VOTE..for Connecticut/its Sen. Joe for a future.

Don’t blame anybody else, Joe, you did it to yourself. You embraced all the wrong issues and all the wrong people. I guess you did it so tightly you didn’t even see the tide go out on them.
Maybe you did something for CT. in the past, in politics it’s reasonable to ask “What have you done for me lately?” Supporting Bush and his policies was not the answer the people needed.

Lieberman should just bow out. It is obvious that he will loose by a wide margin; his time is done.

Like everything else in this Country, it’s your age, Joe. Take a look at the other fellow – Young, no gray hair, tall and a good set of teeth.
Lamont knows how to play the game of Politics.
People are sick of seeing the old men play the war game. It turns out that you, Joe, appear to be one of those old men.

A primary win for Lamont is a great thing. It will show exactly how extreme Democrats have become by attempting to kick a liberal (albeit a polite liberal) out of office. To top it off, Lieberman will win the general election, and the lefty bloggers lose again.

Ned Lamont has no record and just harping on Iraq war. Top Democrats are blind to support him but it is good for the country as we want right people in right place to protect our country.Dear Ned, grow up.. learn from the elderly and experienced ones….

Joe represents another dying breed in US politics – a moderate. This is just another example of how marginalized people like me are in America. Both the Dems and the GOP are crap anymore and more interested in sound bites rather than facts, which is as much the responsibility of Americans as the parties. Most people like to be pandered to rather than think for themselves.

Hey Jake, do know what your talking about? The first
polls I’ve seen has Joe ahead by 5 points. Maybe you should concentrate on popular culture and leave politics to the big boys.
