Allen Launches Second Ad Attacking Webb on Women’s Record
EmailABC’s Mona Raphael reports: In an effort to hold down his opponent’s support among Democratic women, Sen. George Allen’s (R-VA) campaign released a new television ad on Friday attacking former Reagan Navy Secretary Jim Webb for authoring "Women Can’t Fight," a 1979 article for Washingtonian magazine.
The star of the anti-Webb ad is Janice Buxbaum of Fairfax County, VA who claims in the commercial that as a midshipman at the Naval Academy she was "one of the unfortunate few that got ordered to go and interview with James Webb."
Buxbaum claims that according to an initial draft of the "Women Can’t Fight" article, Webb had falsely quoted her as saying that female officers had received special treatment at the Naval Academy.
It’s worth noting, however, that Buxbaum’s gripe with Webb pertains to the draft of his story — not the published article.
Webb campaign spokeswoman Kristian Denny Todd reacted to the release of the ad by telling ABC News that after 20 years of service in Virginia, Sen. Allen should have more pertinent topics to discuss.
"It’s a sad day for Virginia," said Todd.

There we go again ! An ad by Mr. Beat up your sister, racial slur, confederate flag, hangman noose, Mecaca name calling candidate trying to deflect the public away from his own shortcomings. What was that “Welcome to the real Virginia” all about any way? Virginia is my home state, I am very proud of Virginia – We always way tell everyone “Virginia is for Lovers” not Haters!

Cheap shot, not unusual for people like George Allen. He’s a coward that moved to Virginia because he knew he could get away with this nonsense because in California, he would have gotten his ass kicked. He knew that blacks in Virginia were a more genteel bunch and not likely to respond or retaliate. This made him a ‘big man.’ Really, just a big ass, literally.

Now why don’t you explain to me why the misogynist, racist bigot-who isn’t a real Democrat and probably disagrees with 90% of your platform-should be elevated to the United States Senate?

It’s good to know that Webb will have a comrade-in-arms in old Grand Kleagle Byrd-another proud Democrat-if he does manage to snooker enough gullible saps this November.
