FEC: Nothing on File for Hunter
ABC News’ Tahman Bradley Reports: In a Tuesday story about former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani taking the first steps to mount a presidential campaign, the New York Times put Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA) and Gov. Tom Vilsack (D-IA) in the category of politicians who have filed documents with the Federal Election Commission.
But while Vilsack has made such a filing, Hunter has not, according to an FEC spokesman.
Hunter’s 2006 Congressional campaign treasurer Bruce Young confirms that Hunter has not filed with the FEC, telling ABC News that Hunter "is still making up his mind about running for President."
The confusion about Hunter’s status as a presidential candidate may have first started when he made an announcement late last month that he was starting the process of seeking the presidency in 2008.
