Northup’s Defeat Spells Bad News for House GOP

ABC News’ Teddy Davis reports: Rep. Anne Northup’s (R-KY) defeat at the hands of Democrat John Yarmuth could spell bad news for the House GOP.

While speaking at the National Press Club on Oct. 18, CHAIR OF THE NATIONAL REPUBLICAN CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEE REP. TOM Reynolds (R-ny)pointed to Northup’s race as evidence that the GOP’s "all politics is local" strategy was working even in districts that had voted Democratic in recent presidential contests.

Reynolds called Northup a  "tough as nails campaigner," he noted that she had "over $1.5 million in the bank to get her message out," and he highlighted that Yarmuth had backed "doubling the payroll tax and legalizing marijuana" in newspaper columns he had written for an alternative newspaper.

But despite all of those factors going in Northup’s favor, ABC News projects that she has gone down to defeat today.

I recently moved from Louisville and I had a feeling that as soon as I moved, Northup would be voted out. I was right!

Louisville will be much better off without the nasty old hag. Northup was a much better liar than Bush, but lied just as much, and about the same things. She is a warmungering rich bitch who didn’t care how many of our young people die in Iraq because Iraq is making money for her people. She’ll rot in hell.

Louisville hated and is glad to be rid of Anne Northup. As with most of our recent government, Mrs. Northup was placed in office by a vocal minority that wanted to save themselves some tax dollars and legislate morality and proceeded to take our country down the road of an imperialist future while trashing the future economy to prop up a dead economic theory. Yarmuth is probably too liberal for most of our city but through his column in LEO we got to know him and trust him. John Yarmuth will do the right thing, as *I* would judge the right thing to be. And I think that’s finally starting to mean something to voters.
