Obama Heading to New Hampshire?

ABC News’ David Chalian Reports: Sen. Barack Obama has been quick to pick up the phone and dial some Democratic Granite State pols to congratulate them on a history making election.  For the first time in more than a century, Democrats control both chambers of the legislature and both US House seats in the state.

Sen. Obama (D-IL) has said he is taking some time to consider the idea of running for president in 2008.  New Hampshire is home to the country’s first-in-the-nation presidential primary — currently expected to take place in January 2008.

Obama has placed calls to Gov. Lynch (D-NH), State Democratic Party Chairwoman Kathy Sullivan, and several state senators.

"It probably doesn’t surprise you that I am thinking of possibly coming up to New Hampshire soon," Obama told Sullivan according to her recollection of the conversation.  Sullivan told the Senator that New Hampshire Democrats would be thrilled to have him come for a visit.

According to his office, Sen. Obama currently has no definitive plans to travel to the Granite State.
