Sen. Conrad Burns Concedes, Democrats Win Montana Senate Seat
ABC News’ Daniel Steinberger reports: Earlier today, three-term Montana Senator Conrad Burns (R) called Jon Tester (D) to concede the race for U.S. Senator. Despite the Associated Press, ABC News, and other news organizations projecting Jon Tester as the winner yesterday, it took another day for Sen. Burns to concede. In a paper statement, Burns said "I want to congratulate Jon Tester on winning the race. I stand ready to help as Montana transitions to a new United States Senator." In his statement, he also thanked his family and supporters and touted his 18 year record as a U.S. Senator. Burns has no public appearances scheduled according to his campaign. He concluded his statement by saying that he hoped "there is still a good-sized buck out there, because I am going hunting." Jon Tester spent this morning talking to various media outlets and even found time to work on his farm as he prepares to head to Washington, DC.
