Amb. Joe Wilson Doesn’t Want to Testify

 

ABC News’ Jason Ryan reports: Former Ambassador Joseph Wilson has been subpoenaed by Former Vice President Cheney Chief of Staff, Lewis ‘Scooter’ Libby and his legal team to testify for the defense at the Libby trial.  The trial centers on the leaking of information about Wilson’s wife, former CIA agent Valerie Wilson.

But Wilson is now moving to quash the subpoena claiming he knows nothing about Scooter Libby and his memory. Fitzgerald said yesterday that the government had no intention of calling Wilson as a witness for the prosecution.

In a document filed tonight Wilson is attempting to avoid being called as a witness, noting in a motion, "Mr. Wilson however has no personal knowledge regarding either the indictment or Mr. Libby’s defense. He does not know when, the manner and by what means Mr. Libby acquired and subsequently disclosed to the media information concerning the employment of Valerie Wilson by the CIA."
