Obama Madrassa, redux

There have been some MORE DEVELOPMENTS in the "madrassa" sliming of Barack Obama.

Obama’s group is wise to jump-and quickly–on the lies that will come up in the next year or so. Kerry was swift-boated and didn’t reply quickly and forcefully enough and it hurt him. (It’s good that he’s not going to be running in ’08). Describe who the candidates are and what they stand for.

A healthy skepticism of organized religion sounds pretty rational to me. Agreed that it made great sense for Obama to get out in front of this. Fox may have helped him start defining himself as a sensible alternative to the right wingers who want to continue to push the politics of fear and prejudice.

I’m sure that Sen. Obama and his advisors felt that he had to respond quickly and forcefully to this claptrap to prevent it from taking on a life of its own. I’m also sure that the memory of how the smear campaign from the abhorrent “Swift Boat Veterans for Truth” sunk Sen. Kerry’s chances for the presidency is still fresh enough in everyone’s minds.

In 2004 I considered writing in Kucinich; in 2008 I plan to actually do it. He consistently makes sense to me, unlike the others.
