Obama Says 2008 Announcement Coming ‘Fairly Soon’
ABC News’ Teddy Davis Reports: When asked this morning on CBS’ "Face the Nation" whether his 2008 announcement will be coming in "days" or "weeks," Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) smiled and said that it would be "fairly soon."
SCHIEFFER: "I have to ask you the question: we hear that you may make an announcme sooner rather than later whether or not you’re going to seek the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination. Some are saying as early as next week. What can you tell us?"
OBAMA: "I will have something to say about that fairly soon, Bob. And, obviously, there’s been a lot of talk. It’s something that I’ve been considering. I’ve said that I’ve been considering it. And we’ll be making an announcement fairly soon."
SCHIEFFER: "Days? Or weeks?"
OBAMA: "It will be (smiles) fairly soon, Bob."
