Having listened to Boxer’s words and the inflection she used, I have to say that someone would really have to stretch to make her comments an insult directed at Ms. Rice. It’s obvious to me, from hearing her statement, that she was saying simply that it’s much easier to be blasé about sending troops overseas when one doesn’t have any close family who might be part of that force.

I watched the Newscast on ABC and NBC..
Condolezza Rice is a hard working Advisor..
I don’t think its easy to tackle the lady on real issues since she often advises on the “heavy” stuff..doors are open in alot of area’s to this women(Condolezza)..she is a heavy hitter on the Global scene..
So as standards go here at home/

Narcissistic much? Your female co-worker, that is. The additional details you reveal about her are telling. Your friend is self-conscience about her own status and is internalizing something that has nothing to do with her. And trivializing the Iraq conflict and making her entire gender look bad in the process.
Kinda like another female friend of yours who thought nothing of the destruction she wreaked on “handsome”. You need to get a female narcissism meter. Or a friend screener. I’m just saying.
And btw Jake, the term “spinster” is so outdated. Unless you live somewhere extremely backwards. Which you don’t.

This is a complete tempest in a teapot, where how you feel about Sen. Boxer’s statement is a reflection of your political views. Most conservatives, still smarting after this past disastrous election, find Sen. Boxer’s comments a direct personal attack on Sec. Rice and feel the need to defend the latter’s honor, while most liberals find those comments a simple statement of fact as to who is paying the cost for the President’s dirty little war.
