I’m shocked–shocked!–to hear of White House interference in scientific reports to reflect this administration’s position (such as it is) on global warming. What’s next: selectively interpreting intelligence information to justify waging war on a Middle Eastern country?

I think my outrage meter is broken from overabuse. Would somebody Impeach this idiot already? Preferably *before* he invades Iran and starts WWIII.

Thank you so much for this story. I was writing about this before it was cool, and I think it strikes upon the core of every bone-headed move these guys have made: they aren’t empiricists; they’re ideaologues. From science, to intelligence, to victory in Iraq, they start with their conclusions and then gather the evidence. They throw out anything and anybody who disagrees.
We need a more scientific approach, not only to government, but journalism. We need to value objective reality again.
Down with factual relativism.

Hey, you vote for people that don’t believe in science, you get what you pay for.
Don’t blame me for what the Republicans are doing. I’m a patriot.
