Pelosi’s Plane Politics Continues
ABC News’ Z. Byron Wolf Reports: We’ve now seen Pelosi walk by two different ABC cameras this morning and say nothing about whether or not its the size or range of her plane that matters.
BUT we expect Pelosi to make a statement at a press availability at 1:30 outside her office.
That’s a good thing, because so far this morning she has been silent on the issue:
She walked first into a Democratic Caucus meeting on their anti-surge resolution and brushed off questions about the plane, saying roughly that she was "busy with the war."
A little bit later, she walked into a House Science Committee hearing to give her thoughts on global climate change. This time she totally ignored shouted questions about the plane, but did smile.
Her communications director, Brendan Daley, however, approached reporters off-camera as they staked out the climate change hearing, to complain about coverage of this story.
Pelosi did not, said Daley, ever request a bigger plane. It was the House Sergeant at Arms Bill Livingood that requested a plane that could go nonstop to San Francisco since Hastert’s can not. And the only request was for a plane with that range, not, he said, for a physically larger plane.
