Talk Is Cheap But Good

ABC News’ Matthew Zavala Reports: The Democrats may be lacking unity on finding the right Iraq resolution to stand behind, but Rep. Joe Sestak, D-Penn., spins that as a sign of improvement.

Appearing on ABC News’ Politics Live with Sam Donaldson and ABC News’ Political Director Mark Halperin, Sestak said he sees the debate about exiting Iraq a positive sign.

"We weren’t doing this a year ago, and we should have been. That’s a real positive. There’s going to be disagreement and why shouldn’t there be?" said Sestak.

Sestak, who served in the U.S. Navy and retired as a three star admiral, declared, "I spent 31 years out there.  I led men and women into combat.  I wanted to know every day if the men and women back here in Washington were spending hours, days, weeks debating the best use of us.  This is not about cutting off funding for the troops."

Halperin pressed Sestak about the need for Republican support on any Iraq-related legislation, to which, the Congressman replied bluntly, "The Democratic Caucus has certain responsibilities to the Democratic Caucus.  I don’t.  I ran as an independent and happen to be in the Democratic Party for my district."

More spin-spinning from those spinning spinners.
And ABC, FYI, talk is not cheap. We pay about 120Grand for each of these talkers. Per year, that is.
