Bush and Gonzales Chat

ABC News’ Jessica Yellin Reports: The White House confirmed that at 7:15 am ET this morning, President Bush called Attorney General Alberto Gonzales from the Oval Office to express his support. This is the first time the president and Gonzales have spoken since Wednesday, March 14, when the president spoke with Gonzales before his press conference in Merida, Mexico.

White House Press Secretary Tony Snow said, "They had a good conversation regarding the status of the US Attorneys issue. The president reaffirmed his strong backing of and support for the Attorney General."

This follows the Department of Justice taking what Snow called an "unprecedented step" of releasing  more than 3000 pages of emails and offering to make Justice Department Officials available for discussion to "be responsive to requests from Capitol Hill". Snow pointed out that "the emails last night not only included DOJ documents but also communications between the DOJ and the White House."

Politico.com is reporting this morning that the White House has begun to hold conversations to look for a replacement for Gonzales. Snow insists the Politico.com story is inaccurate and no effort is being made by anyone at the behest of the White House to look for an Attorney General replacement.

Bush will support him no matter what, but he needs to RESIGN ASAP, he is a liar and not good for our country.
