Bush: Cancer Won’t ‘Whip’ Snow
EmailABC News’ Jon Garcia Reports: President Bush emerged today from the White House to give his support to White House Press Secretary Tony Snow, who has been diagnosed with a recurrence of cancer.
"This morning I got a phone call from Tony Snow. He called me from the hospital. He told me that when they went in and operated on him, they found cancer," said Bush.
The president said this is a recurrence of the cancer that Snow had thought he successfully dealt with in the past.
"His attitude is one that he’s not going to let cancer whip him and he’s upbeat," said the president before adding, "My attitude is that we need to pray for him and his family."
The president stressed that a lot of people in the White House wished him well.
"My message to Tony is stay strong, a lot of people love you and care for you and will pray for you, and we’re hoping for all the best," said Bush.
"I’m looking forward to the day that he comes back to the White House and briefs the press corps on the decisions that I’m making and why I’m making them," he said.
"In the meantime, I hope our fellow citizens offer a prayer for him and his family."

Tony, you are a good man and me and my family and friends are praying for the return of good health swiftly. You work for a good man that I know is praying for you, too. May God give you strength, courage, and you body the endurance to combat a terrible disease. May God bless your family and give them peace as they support you in this ordeal. Your positive manner and faith will work a miracle. You are a fine example of what the media should be but is not, honest and without vendictiveness.

I absolutely am praying for Tony to get well and stay strong. My heart broke upon hearing this news of recurrence.
Thank you, Mr President, for being supportive and not only a wonderful President, but a good, caring man.

Don’t every give up. God can do miracles, I received one 23 years ago, and my family has seen others, my dad had cancer that was a death sentence, he had surgery, treatment, 3 occurrences, but lived well 15 years past the last occurrence, incidentally, most people died in 6 months but he was a fierce figher and believed that miracles could happen. He also loved life every day. We are praying for you.
