DNC calls for GOP presidential candidates to denounce Coulter’s remarks
ABC News’ Kate Snow and Jake Tapper report: The chairman of the Democratic National Committee and 2004 presidential hopeful Howard Dean, called on Republican presidential candidates to denounce remarks made by Ann Coulter at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington DC, Friday.
"I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word ‘faggot,’ so I – so kind of an impasse, can’t really talk about Edwards," Coulter had said at the event that was attended by former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO), Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS), former Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA), and Vice President Dick Cheney.
"There is no place in political discourse for this kind of hate-filled and bigoted comments," Dean responded in a statement issued last night. "While Democrats and Republicans may disagree on the issues, we should all be able to agree that this kind of vile rhetoric is out of bounds. The American people want a serious, thoughtful debate of the issues. Republicans — including the Republican presidential candidates who shared the podium with Ann Coulter today — should denounce her hateful remarks."
For the Edward’s camp, Coulter’s remarks may result in an unexpected boost in financial support. Video footage of Coulter’s appearance at the conference was posted on the campaign’s website together with a call on supporters to "raise $100,000 in ‘Coulter Cash’ this week."

CPAC: Romney Struggles to Convince Voters
Obama Backs Off Birth Control Battle?
She has carved out quite the little niche for herself. Hey, she keeps getting press and invited to be a speaker at events such as this. They knew exactly what they were getting when they scheduled her to speak. All she wants to do is stay in the public eye and get rich. If there was more money in hugging baby seals, she’d be doing that. No wait, I think she eats the baby seals.

Ann Coulter’s remarks or non remarks are vile, but they should not be used to generate campaign dollars. If we donated 100 million, it wouldn’t make these bigoted comments just go away. Ann Coulter needs to pay. She needs to be called out and present the facts. If she has no factual evidence to support her claim, then she must pay! I’m sick of these ploys being used to generate sympathy or funds. It’s time for some action! Hit this “Scarecrow” where it hurts. In her wallet! Everyone knows she is skinny. That’s a fact!

Ann Coulter has just proven,by making those derogitory comments, just how much of an idiot she truly is!

Do you really expect these morally bankrupt people to denounce what they laughed at? They show their true colors by even inviting this woman to speak at their meeting.

FINALLY, abc is covering this story! Salon and others have been pushing this all night. Seriously, how is it OK that Coulter can say something like this? She is the core of the cancer in the republican party.

Why the outrage? Everybody already knows what kind of person Coulter is.
In the conservative’s ranks, this kind of speech is normal discourse.
That’s what kind of people these rabid right-wingers are. No surprise here, praise the lord.

Considering some of the names Howard Dean has called President Bush, he is the last one to be condemning anyone.

Mitt Romney should have immediately and publicly denounced Ann Coulter’s remarks. The fact that he did not, means he’s lost my vote.

I agree with Cecil Jones she should pay as in dollars!!
She is vile angry person always looking like she has two black eyes — I look with disgust at the people who actually look to her for a voice. –

Keep it up Mitt and Ann. You’re going to reap what you’ve sown. My intuition leads me to believe that the real moral majority in America is going to rise up again in the next election. Bet on it. We’re really not as stupid as Karl Rove would have you believe.

Christian brothers and sisters you need to wake up if you truly want your country back.
You need to denounce the Republicans.
If you truly believe in Jesus and your Bible then that is not what the good Lord would have wanted.

boy, talk about family values! why would anyone want this loose cannon to be the spokesperson for the party? how perfect. she’s a morally disquisting person who i’m pretty sure has scales under her clothes. and really, why edwards? because he fights poverty and republicans rely on poverty to breed fear perhaps? what a leech. only thing i’m confused by is where was her white cape and hood? biggot.

Not sure if there is a muzzle big enough for Ann Coulter’s big mouth. She’s the arm pit of the conservative movement. Too bad this pit bull keeps getting invited back to speak when those who invite her know she will spew out this vile stuff. She has really hurt the conservative republican movement.

First it was Ann Coulter, next it was Imus, and now it’s Rosie; where do the political attacks end? Rosie was defending our right to free speech and you know you’ve got to leave if winning means verbally slapping a pregnant woman. Rosie was right for defending free speech, but she was wrong to attack Tara and “The Donald” when a powerful person gave someone in trouble another chance. Tara served well. What happened to Rosie? She wasn’t allowed input on the “Final Cut” of this story. Pretty Elizabeth made it because she wrapped herself in the flag. Rosie would have endured death by 1,000 cuts if she waited for her moment in the sun. I’d love to see Rosie start “The Crew.” That’s the View with testosterone based on facts not just emotion.
