Fired U.S. Attorneys Speak Out

ABC News’ Lindsay Hamilton reports: Two of the U.S. attorneys fired under Attorney General Alberto Gonzales are upset and speaking out about their dismissal.

"The stories keep changing," former attorney David Iglesias told Fox News’ Chris Wallace. "I just wish they would have said at the beginning in January, ‘These are political appointees, there are political problems…’ Instead, they said performance, and now they’re saying not performance. I think the credibility is significantly strained at this point."

Another fired attorney, Bud Cummins, said the White House has told the truth about his situation, but added, "I don’t think they’ve been fair to the other seven colleagues at all."

Following the former U.S. attorneys, Wallace spoke with Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter, the ranking Republican on the Judiciary Committee, and asked if Specter still had confidence in Gonzales.

"I’m reserving judgment on that, Chris, until we finish the inquiry," he replied.
