Fox News’ Ailes Protests Edwards’ Debate Boycott
EmailABC News’ Jake Tapper Reports: Accepting a Freedom of Speech Award at the Radio and Television News Directors Foundation dinner Thursday evening, FOX News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes protested the decision by former Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C., to boycott an August Democratic debate partly because it’s being hosted by Fox News.
Ailes alluded to "pressure groups" – presumably Moveon.org and DailyKos bloggers – telling candidates to "blacklist" certain channels, and warned of the slippery slope this might create.
He also chastised Edwards, though not by name, saying, "If you are afraid of journalists how will you face the real problems in this world?"

Afraid of journalists. Think again. More like disgusted with them. American people want to hear what the candidates represent. We don’t want journalists opinions of what they represent. We can determine that ourselves. Edwards and Obama know that. They give the American people more credit than the journalists do.
