Liberal House Dems Propose Earlier Iraq Withdrawal
ABC News’ Dean Norland Reports: In a direct challenge to President Bush’s Iraq policy, liberal House Democrats from the "Out of Iraq and Progressive Caucuses" are proposing a December 31, 2007 withdrawl of U.S. troops from Iraq.
In a news conference this morning, ten democratic members of the house said when the supplemental funding for the war comes up in the House, likely next week, they want a very clear deadline of December 31, 2007 for the withdrawal of troops.
Rep. Jan Schakowsky, D-Ill., said, "No more second chances. . . no more spending billions of dollars to send our children into the meat grinder that is Iraq."
Rep. Lynn Woolsey, D-Calif, said, "It’s time congress finally caught up to the people we represent who have understood for a long time that the Bush Iraq policy is a train wreck."
The members said they will listen to Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the democratic House leadership, but said that the Dec. 31st deadline is what they want and what they will fight for.

The Democrats want to pull out of Iraq. They have no stomach for a fight. If we don’t fight the muslims over there, they will fight us over here. They already proved that 11 September 2001. Have you forgotten?
